This is our FOOD & EDUCATION Project
The children of Waga have been our first protégés in the FOOD & EDUCATION project since 2008. Violet, a widow, and her four children lived in an unfinished building without windows and doors. Violet's husband had died of lung cancer, leaving his family completely impecunious. In addition, he had abused his wife physically so that Violet could not work because of her scalded hands. She tried to raise her children by begging in a small village. The two adolescent girls, Tharindu, her disabled son, and little Hirusha urgently needed a protected home which could be locked during the night. Owing to a few larger donations, we were in a position to finish the small house's construction for the orphaned family (see picture gallery below). Naturally, we still take care of Violet and her children by making food donations and paying all costs for school education and/or medical care for the children. Thilini, the eldest daughter, turned 19 in 2015. Meanwhile, she is married and lives with her husband and her baby in the neighbouring village.
Nethmini, our first heart patient, for whom we could successfully arrange surgery in 2005, has also been a protégé in our FOOD & EDUCATION project since 2011. See Nethimini's photo documentation-> . In the picture gallery, you can see the children who are currently being taken care of within the scope of the FOOD & EDUCATION project. And with your donation, we will soon be able to help more children receive sufficient food and, above all, complete school education as successfully as possible in order to get a better chance for their future.
